O internacionalmente reconhecido Antonitas D'Havila, um dos melhores artistas do mundo flamengo, vai estar em Toronto em Fevereiro com os seus sons originais de música cigana.
Nascido na Inglaterra Antonitas D'Havila é de ascendência cigana. A música começou a fazer parte da sua vida quando o pai lhe dava a conhecer o violão. Inspirado por outros músicos flamengos, D'Havila aperfeiçoou a sua técnica, enquanto vivia e tocava em diversas regiões de Espanha e no sul da França. Aos vinte assinou um contrato com a “RCA Records” tendo produziu vários álbuns.

Havila's fez espectáculos já por toda a Europa e América do Norte, incluindo o Carnegie Hall e a sua música tem estado em destaque em todo o mundo. Além de seu repertório flamengo, Antonitas D'Havila é também um poeta e um artista visual.

"Born in England of Gypsy ancestry, Antonitas D'Havila was first introduced to the guitar by his father. Inspired by other Flamenco players, he perfected his technique while living and concertizing throughout Spain and the south of France. At the age of twenty he signed with RCA Records and has produced numerous albums. Without any formal training, D’Havila has been acclaimed as the greatest living original and authentic Romany gypsy flamenco guitarist. A fiercely independent artist, he plays over 100 of his own original variations on traditional Flamenco motives such as melancholic “Peteneras” and “Alegrias”, song of joy from Cadiz, wild farcical “Bulerias Chico” and “Guitarra Andalus” that typifies mournful sonorities of Flamenco.
Antonitas D'Havila’s recital tours have included concerts throughout Europe and North America including Carnegie Hall and his music has been featured throughout the world in concert, on films, commercials, radio and television. In addition to his Flamenco repertoire, Antonitas D’Havila is also a poet and a visual artist.
